The Pinsent Masons Mentoring Programme has helped me to better understand what a solicitor does on a day to day basis. Through personal contact with my mentor, I was able to ask specific questions about the career which I felt needed further clarity, this ranged from enquiring about the contents of my mentor’s daily workload, to understanding what current commercial trends were important to certain legal sectors and how this impacted Pinsent Masons directly.

The programme further enabled me to enquire into what my mentor thought were some of the pitfalls graduates fall into during the application process and how these mistakes could be avoided. I was able to ask what actionable steps my mentor would recommend when applying to firms which allowed me to identify areas of weakness in my own applications.
